My name is Daitron I just moved to New York with my twin sister Sage. I knew that I would have the time of my life in New York, Time square, the parties, the nightlife and all things wonderful. Now you would expect that living with a vampire would eventually lead to me turning, but that is not the case. What we became I can barely explain to myself.
We have been walking for hours and yet somehow she still finds a way to be…
“Wow look at that huge building!”
“Could you stop going on about the huge buildings for one second and concentrate.”
“Ahh come on Day. Can’t you just enjoy yourself for a minute?”
Damn! I hate it when she pouts like that it is so irritating.
“I will enjoy myself when we find an apartment. It’s almost dark and we still haven’t found anything just because you can’t make up your mind!”
“But none of them felt right Day...”
A guy paused for a moment and stared at me and my sister. He had intense eyes that felt like they were staring right through me.
“Daitron! Are you listening to me?”
“Huh? Oh yea, yea.”
“I hate it when you dose off like that. As I was saying I am sure we will find the right one…”
“Before nightfall” I interrupted her.
“Sure, sure but first let’s try this place.”
Yes this is how Sage always acts. It’s always her way or no way. It is this trait of my twin sister that makes me find her so unbearable. But I have to suck it up because if it wasn’t for her I would have never been able to convince my parents to let me move to New York. She always had the ability to persuade our parents. She gladly offered her help, but the compromise was that she had to come with me.
“Day, you’re doing it again.”
“I’m listening, I promise”
“I wish we could get a place in Upper East Side.”
“That would have been great but unfortunately we can’t afford it, so we’ll just have to make do with the Lower East side.”
We sat talking for another 15 minutes when it was time to meet up with a real-estate agent that was going to show us the next apartment on our list.
“Day, it is perfect!”
“I know I love it too.”
“I am glad you like it, but the bad news is it will only be available in two months.”
Damn real-estate agent why would she show us an apartment that wasn’t available. We told her that it was urgent.
As we left the apartment I saw him again, the guy from before with the intense eyes. He was standing at the apartment next to the stairs.
“Aah, looking for apartments hey?”
He said as we walked past him.
“Yes, this place is perfect, but it isn’t available.”
Story of my life, we actually find an apartment that sage approves on and then it isn’t available.
“Well my apartment looks the same and I’ve been looking for roommates, so if you want you can take a look and tell me what you think.”
“Sure, why not.”
“Oh, how rude of me my name is Calib.”
“Nice to meet you Calib I’m Sage and this is my brother Daitron.”
The real-estate agent set of and we followed Calib into his apartment.
He was right. The apartments were an exact match, down to the little patterns that were incorporated into the ceiling.
“What do you think, Day?”
“Well as I said before I like it and it’ll cost less because the rent will be divided.”
“So what is the verdict?”
Calib said as he entered the room
“We’ll take it!”
Sage said with her annoying high pitch voice that she gets when she is excited.
I felt uneasy around Calib, but didn’t know why. Maybe it was his peculiar eyes or that he was staring at us earlier. I just couldn't put my finger on it.
