I'm officially a college student!
I've been at SAU for about 16 hours now, and it's been a blast! There's so much to do, and although it seems like there's not enough time to do it all, there actually is! I've met so many amazing people and can't wait to meet more.
I'm sitting in my dorm alone now, my AA (academic adviser) meeting ran short, and my next scheduled event isn't until 2, so I've got a bit of downtime. It's a "seminar" if you will, about how to make the most out of college. Needless to say, I'm so excited!
College is proving to be a great experience. Already I feel like a different person than I was in high school. I'm more open with people, willing to be a little crazy, and more social. Up until probably high school, I wasn't really the type of person to just randomly go up to people and introduce myself. However, yesterday after setting up my dorm, my roommate who also happens to be my sister, and I decided to walk our entire floor and introduce ourselves to the rest of the girls. It was awesome!
Also, I met a fellow classmate I've been dying to meet since mid July. We started chatting on Facebook and instantly hit it off. After numerous of "person" tag, we finally ran into each other. "Person tag" is like phone tag, only you see them walk by you and you walk by them, except neither one of you stop and acknowledge the other. Hopefully that makes sense! Haha.
At SAU we have a Core group, made up of 14 students and one PA or Peer Adviser. My Core group is so much fun! We've had a lot of fun times already and our Brother Core is just as awesome. One of the things we do with our Core groups is spend a weekend in Cedar Bend. I have no idea where that is, but it's a camping retreat where we supposedly behead chickens. Ummm.....fun?
Anyways, I'm going to try my best to keep posting in this as my college career continues. Until my next post, Ciao!
