A girl wakes up and hears loneliness.
The cell phone told her 2:31 AM. Her feet told her the floor was cold. The chair told her she needed to lose weight. The empty in-box told her there was still no answer. Facebook told her everyone was asleep.
She stood. The feeling in her gut was trying to tell her something. A balloon, filled with air and lightning bugs that tapped and sparked against her ribcage. She lay down and the balloon popped. It wasn’t clear what was being said, but the tears told her something was wrong. She hugged the pillow.
“It’ll be okay” it said.
