Life's Lessons.

Prologue

I was born into a modern Indian household .My parents swore by the growing trend of nuclear families. They said it gave them the liberty to live life on their terms; to ignore any social traditions they deemed restrictive or avoid any petty family obligations that compromised their ambitions.

Don’t get me wrong. My parents are extremely caring people. We live a mere fifteen minutes’ walk away from my maternal grandparent’s home and visit them every Sunday, and on every other holiday during the week. As for my other set of grandparents-my Dad calls  them at their house in Uttar Pradesh, about a dozen times a week, just to make sure they are in no want of comfort.

Really, my mom and dad love their parents a lot. They just don’t love them enough to let them come and live with us.

The End
