The limo zooms in and out of traffic. The dark skies are drawing nearer now. This storm is going to be one that we all will have to face head on.
"Now, what is this who have to tell me?" Thomas asks me, putting his left hand on my knee. "It's okay. You know you can trust me."
"What I am about to tell you is going to shock you. But like you said, I can trust you." I say smiling.
I clear my throat and begin, "When I was fifteen, my mother was on a tour to all the villages and cities in this nation. While she was away, my father..." I say as I try to hold back my tears. "My father told me that I was going to be trained for fighting, just in case I ever had to. Reluctantly I did as he said. Father knows best right? Wrong. After a few months, I caught on. I knew what he was training me to be. One night, when I asked him, he said he didn't know what the hell I was talking about. He threatened to send me away if I ever asked him again." I stop for a minute and light a cigarette.
"Send you away?" Thomas asked me.
"To the Mayflower. It was an asylum. For the... insane. Anyways, another two months went by and my training continued. By then, it had been eight months. My mom would be home within the next two. One day, during my training, while everyone else had went out for a break, I grab a knife and put it his throat. 'Tell me why my father wants me trained, or I swear to god I will rip your throat to shred!' He told me. Guess he didn't want his throat slashed. When I found out that I was being trained to... kill my mother. I left the center and ran straight back to the mansion." I pause for a moment and blow out a ring of smoke and pour a glass of wine.
"Wait, your dad... He wanted you to... that explains why he always seemed so... I don't know." I place my hand on his shoulder. "Listen."
"When I confronted him, he put a gun to my head and said, 'Didn't I warn you to never speak of this again!' Finally, I snapped. I grabbed his letter opener and shoved it into his face. I'm not exactly who you thought I was. Now you know." I say as I burst into tears.
"The scar on his face... you did that?" Thomas asks me.
I nod as I cry. "I'm so sorry. But I couldn't just let me kill my mother. After that, he and Lucas were always out to get me. They tried to make my life a living hell. But when they finally knew they couldn't hurt me, they poisoned my mother's wine. She's on the verge of death. For four years she has been like that. She's going to die soon."
"Wait, you told your dad earlier that 'This isn't your territory anymore,' does that have anything to do with it?"
"When they found out what he had me do, they exiled him from the Privy Council. He was never let back in. But that didn't mean that he still didn't have power. Oh no, he will always have power." I say as I look at the mansion. A loud bang is head along with a thousand screams. "What the hell was that?!" I shout. The limo stops dead in its tracks.
