Lest time pass us by
Forget the world and all but us
Drink to the fill like it never was
For though time sits and waits for the cautious
It merely does that to spite those cautious
It comes and goes in the twinkle of an eye
And passes us without so much of a warning as a sigh
Even if one should try to humble time
It would drag its feel, even if offered a dime
So come, beloved, and let us be merry
Lest time pass us by and we be sorry
So if it should make us die with regret....
