I dream a world where man
No other man will scorn,
Where love will bless the earth
And peace its paths adorn
I dream a world where all
Will know sweet freedom's way”

-Langston Hughes

There was once a time when I believed the world to be safe and kind. When I believed the world to be accepting and loving. There was once a time when I believed in happy endings. My family and I lived contently in a small house made out of stone in what felt like the middle of absolute nowhere. The grass was always a beautiful shining green, the sky was always soft baby blue with patches of fluffy white clouds. The stream that flowed just past our front yard made such a calming, gentle sound that I often came home to find the children fast asleep nearby. Oh how I long for those days to return. The majestic snow-capped mountains. The dreaming and the wishing of things to come. Back then all of Wales felt like home....

“Wait up! Ugh I can't run that fast! Thorne wait UP!” The young girl yelled as she chased the boy she called Thorne through a shimmering bright green field of grass and dandelions. The air smelled sweet like summer always seems to with a hint of that fresh ocean smell. It was like their own European paradise. Laughing loudly Thorne replied, “Haha! But I thought you said you could kick my butt!” To which the girl yelled, “I can! I just can't catch you...” before promptly collapsing in the grass. Thorne frantically rushed back to her.

“Emilia! Are you alright?!” He gasped as he knelt down next to her.

“Of course I am, dummy~” Emilia laughed as recognition passed through Thorne's face just before he got pounced on and wrestled to the ground.

They wrestled around in the grass for a few minutes before Emilia felt a hand which was way too small to be Thorne's grab at the back of her shirt.

“Alisa, is that you?” She giggled before grabbing the little girl and tickling her despite her protests.

“Emmie stop! Emmieeee stoooop!” She giggled, “Emmie, the soup is gonna boil oveeeeer! And and Elwyn and Eden are fighting over the last clean spoon!!” They all stopped what they were doing immediately and while still laughing ran back to their cute stone house to save whatever remained of their dinner.

The End
