(The events of this chapter come after the Faerie Bound chapter "Deamon Pillow")
I am such a goddamed idiot! I'm going to get mashed to a pulp!
Briliant, just when I thought my life couldnt' get any worse.
I smiled shakily, trying to keep the dread off my face. I was going to get absolutely pounded. And it was my own stinking fault. Well, I'm going to have to suck it up and bear it.
"Right, hang on a second, getting out of this bed is harder than it looks."
Cautiously maneouvering my legs over to the side of the bed, I tried to push myself off the edge of the bed.
Ow! Ow ow ow ow ow!
Okay, that hurt, but I wasn't going to let anyone see that. Eventually I managed a sort of half-standing sort of position, one hand still hanging onto the edge of the bed.
ARGH MY ANKLE! OH HECK THIS HURTS SO DAMNED MUCH!
I tried to look stoic as I took some of the weight of my injured led. Thankfully I no longer had any of those blasted needles sticking into my arm, they'd taken them out yesterday.
I laughed quietly at the look on Morgan's face. She seemed to be looking at me like I was an idiot. She was probably right, but I wasn't about to give up now.
I think if I have to put up with this for too long I'm gonna pass out. Ah hell that hurts, I am so stupid. How did I get myself into this mess.
I straightened up, trying to look normal, whilst clenching my jaw to stop myself from screaming in agony. But standing was only half the battle. If I was going to make my point, I'd need to start walking.
Mike was looking at me expectantly, Morgan still obviously thought I was being a fool.
Okay, here we go.
Wincing a little, I put my weight onto my sore ankle and took a few hesitant steps.
However I didn't notice the crutches leaning against the wall unti it was too late and I tripped over them.
ARGH! DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN THAT KILLS! OW, OH HECK WHAT HAVE I DONE! OH BLAST MY RIBS, OH HELL!
I couldn't help but yowl as I crashed into the floor, landing in and untidy heap at Mike's feet. He laughed, and I whimpered slightly as I attempted to put on a brave face. A little bit difficult seeing as I was almost sobbing with pain.
Damned crutches! How can I have walked into those? Honestly I am such a bleeding fool!
Mike was still laughing as I attempted to pick myself up off the floor.
So much for first impressions.
