Running Away From The Enemy

Lunchtime. Smoke rises into the trees, the birds are singing and the sun is beating down hard on Sky’s head. It is time. Time to go back to the cabin. Sky stands up, and takes a deep breath in.

“Are you ready?” Ari asks behind her.

“Yes”

“Good, my pack and I will protect you. You have nothing to worry about”

“Good”

“You must bring a weapon, a strong weapon”

“But they have guns!”

“There are more of us than them; we will take the enemy out”

“Okay… I’m ready”

“Then we will head off” Ari sets off in front, with Sky following closely behind with the pack. They delve deep into the woods where Sky carves her self a sharp stick which she keeps close by. After setting by a lake for a break they snack on some fish.

“How are you feeling?” Ari asks Sky.

“I’m… scared”

“You’ll be fine, don’t worry”

“I can’t help - “Sky jumps up and holds the stick in front of her. Rachel and her gang are on the other side of the lake. Ari jumps in front of her, and growls.

“Rachel…” Ari growls.

“Ah, Ari… being protective are you?” Rachel asks smiling.

“Yes… I am... what are you doing out here?”

“Just walking… it’s such a nice day”

“You wouldn’t be walking this way for no reason… you’ve come for the dagger”

“What gives you that idea?”

“Because my pack and I live here, there’s no way of you taking us all out, there’s too many of us… and besides how do you plan to take us all out?”

“With this thing” Rachel pulls out a gun. Ari jolts his head back.

“RUN!” he screams. Sky sprints off first. The rest of them join her. Several shots are fired, but they all miss.

The End
