Red door

Red:  The color of warmth, anger, and passion.

I closed my eyes, inhaled deeply, and opened the door.

As I opened the door, a sickening stench snaked its way out of the room and into my nostrils.  Almost choking, I entered and found myself in a small circular room, about forty feet in diameter.  In the center, there was a red sundial, lit partially by a small hole in the ceiling.

A way out?  I investigated, but to my dismay, the roof was extremely high up....  Probably another thirty feet, and nothing in the room but some vines to climb up on.

Finally, the walls were blanketed by a thick layer of vines, covering every inch of the wall, except a single wooden door.  As I inspected the room, I found the source of the terrible smell.  A humanoid corpse lay on the ground near the sundial, grasping one of the vines attached to the ceiling.

The End
