Chapter 1 The births

"Tori darling, I was wondering if I could run a phrase by you." Matthew Imel said while stepping into the master bedroom. He noticed his wife was doubled over in pain, floor soaked with water.

He immediately dropped his journal and ran to his wife's side. Tori Reid Imel had been pregnant for only thirty four weeks.

"Honey! The baby's coming early!" Tori tried to waddle to the door with worry for her child's health, but her pain was too much. She stumbled, Matthew threw his arms and caught her.

"Let's get you to the hospital darling."

She wailed as her contractions started to flare. He held her waist and arm tight out the door and to the car.

"You're doing great darling, we are almost there. Breathe like the doctor said."

Tori was hyperventilating and trying not to moan, "You're doing great." Her husband said calmly.

She could no longer hold in her pain. Her tears were flowing and she let out a wail. Matthew rubbed her arm and allowed his foot to press the gas a little more. He was weaving through cars, leaving a trail of angry drivers. They arrived at the hospital, just in the nick of time.

"Tori, we know you're working hard, but you gotta push that other baby out."

"Yes you are having another baby."

Tori fainted, "Tori, no no, wake up." The doctor shook her, "Nurse help me."

The nurse grabbed a cup filled with water and poured it on her face. Tori gasped and leaned forward.

"Tori, stay with me, I need you to push."

Tori didn't know what to do, so she did what he said. She pushed.

"How was it twins?" Matthew's mother asked from the other end of the phone.

"I don't know, the doctor says the larger baby must have hid her sister in the sonogram."

"Are they magic?"

"We will see, there are no signs of it at the moment. But I don't care, I will love them the same."

"Have you gotten names yet?"

"Mom, you have so many questions! We will give you all the information when everything settles down. All you need to know is they are healthy baby girls."

"Well son, I love you. We will talk later."

"Love you too mom." Matthew hung up the phone and walked over to the window to see his new baby girls sleeping in their heated beds.
