Just do it

Just do it, just do it. I kept repeating over and over again in my head.
Ring, ring.
Just do it.
Ring, ring.

Just do it.

Ring... “Hey”

“Ummm, hi. I’m sorry to do this, I really am. But this isn’t gonna work out.” I waited, closing my eyes. Just waiting for the blow back.

“Oh, right.” Josh said, bless him; he doesn’t know what to think, or say.

“I’m really sorry.” I reply

“Yeah, it’s ok.”

“Alright, well I’ll speak to you soon?” I ask.

There was a deafening pause, “I don’t think that’s a good idea.” For the first time I heard bitterness in his voice. This annoyed me a bit, it’s not my fault that it wasn’t working, (oh no wait, so maybe it was my fault).

“Fine, if that’s what you want.” I said; trying my best to not sound bothered.

“Yeah. It is.” He said; clearly not at all bothered. Then he hung up.

Wow! Now that was tense. I wanted to tell Erin about what had just happened, but I don’t think I could manage another phone call. So I decided to text her.

Jst done it. Tense much? It's defo 4 the best tho. Bt lets jst say, i dnt tink i'll b gettin a xmas card from him.

Fortunately, Erin always texts back quickly so I didn't have to wait long.

awww, Scarlet! I'm soz he didnt take it well. I do agree wid u tho. Cya in skool.

I didn't bother texting back. I was too tiered. Breaking up with someone, even if you want to; is hard work. But it’s over, and now I can concentrate on getting Will back, and getting back at Hailey. Now this will be fun. I was tempted to laugh like an evil genius, but I thought that might be taking it a bit too far!
I took off my make-up and got changed into my pj’s then collapsed on my double bed and slept a perfect night's sleep.

The End
