"Blaine, I can't tell you how good it is to see you. Carole and Finn will be ecstatic! We haven't seen you for four years!" Burt exclaimed happily as the trio walked towards his car. "Come for dinner. No, it isn't a question, Blaine. You have to. There'll be enough." Shooting Kurt a look, Blaine shifted uncomfortably. Just what was going on here? When they arrived at the house, the truth quickly came out.
"Blaine, darling!" Carole exclaimed, running out of the house to hug him as soon as she'd hugged Kurt. "Oh, you've grown! Kurt, you didn't tell me he'd grown! Now, why didn't you come visit while you were in College? You're always welcome, honey, you're family now!"
"Uh, what?" Blaine asked, totally confused now. "Kurt didn't see me either.. I stayed in California the whole four years..."
"Hmm? No, I'm sure Kurt went to see you every holiday, every time you were in Lima for a few days..." It was Carole's turn to be confused.
"What? I'm confused.." Finn said from the doorway. He looked disheveled, clearly he had just got back from College too.
"Join the club, son." Burt said. "Kurt? It appears you have some explaining to do. Lets go into the living room and talk about this."
And so Burt, Carole, Finn, Blaine and an extremely shifty Kurt went in, pulling and shoving their bags, to the living room and sat on the comfy sofas.
"Kurt?" Blaine asked quietly.
"Blaine and I.. split up four years ago, the day before we all left for college. Thats why I locked myself in my room for four hours with the loud music playing. I wasn't packing.. I was crying.." Kurt admitted, his eyes brimming with tears at the memory. Blaine squeezed his leg, and he smiled at his boyfriend tearfully.
"Hon, why didn't you tell us? We could have helped you!" Carole asked in a low voice.
"I didn't tell anyone. I thought voicing it aloud would make it more final. I even told everyone at college I had a boyfriend called Blaine, and that he was studying in California. Whenever someone found me crying, I told them the truth, I was missing my boyfriend. Every time one of you guys called, I pretended it was Blaine.. I changed your caller ids to Blaine, so people would see my inbox full of messages from Blaine if they looked at my phone.. I was in such denial.." Kurt sobbed. "Please don't be mad at me for lying..."
"Kurt.. How could we possibly be mad at you? You were going through a really tough time. You were allowed to be a little unstable!" Blaine said, turning Kurt's face so he was looking at him. "I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say: We forgive you, okay?" Kurt threw his arms around him, sobbing on his shoulder.
"Kurt? Kurt?" Burt said. "What's up?"
"I.. I just really missed all of you.. That's all.." Kurt murmured into Blaine's shoulder. Blaine took his face in his hands and kissed him.
"You don't have to miss us anymore Kurt.. We're here." He murmured.
