a girl moves from Minnesota to North Carolina and has to start a new life for herself.
I slammed the door shut and ran over to my desk, turning on the radio, and letting my music blare. I stood there in shock for a minute, then slumped over to my bed. How could my parents do this to me? They had got to be kidding. It had to be some horrible kind of joke. They knew how hard I had worked for that scholarship to Minnehaha Academy, they knew how hard I had been working to change. How could they just announce out of the blue that we're moving? And to North Carolina? No one here knows anything about North Carolina! It's so unfair!
I lay on the bed, pounding my head against my pillow in tempo with the music for a long, long time. Suddenly, my phone buzzed. I flipped it open and read the text from my best friend, Annie.
What's new? It read.
End of the world. I answered grimly.
Tell me 'bout it.
Wish I could, but I got hw. ttyl
I slammed my phone shut and sighed. This was going to be a long, long day.
