"I have a Red Velvet Frappuccino for Starie." A barista yelled out.
Another barista smiled, "Laura Ann, I have your Trenta Iced Coffee with 12 pumps of classic syrup, a shot of espresso and cream. Enjoy!"
Laura Ann (La) , Denise's twin sister grabbed her cup. She pressed the straw and bounced to Classic Man by Jidenna and Roman GianArthur song.
Denise walked in and smiled, "only at my Starbucks we play urban music."
Laura Ann smiled and hugged her twin. Denise sat by the window and sipped her S'mores Frappuccino.
La smiled, "so how is everything with your man."
Denise smiled, "we broke up."
La's mouth dropped, "what? Are you serious? Why?"
"We haven't called off the engagement though. Roman and I are boring. We are really good friends. The sex was phenomenal, but we love each as friends. I haven't told anyone and probably will keep this charade up for a little longer."
La hugged her, "you are handling this well."
Denise smiled, "it just didn't click. I have a lot to work on, with myself. I took a major hit from John's relationship. He took my confidence down."
La continued, "I know. I could feel it."
"I need to make some improvements on myself."
They both said, "it's for the best." They grabbed each other's hand and laughed together. John walked in and stood in line.
Denise turned to his direction, "I miss him so much La."
La rubbed her back, "it'll be okay, sis."
"I wasn't good enough for him. I'm not good enough for Roman either. I feel so broken. I have to lie to keep my image up. People can't see me cry or be broken. Even though I felt like this since last December."
"Denise, you can be broken with me. I am your twin. I will always be here with you."
"La, I'm broken... brokenhearted. "
John walked over to them, "Hey guys."
La looked up, "hey John."
Denise kept her head down, as John realized he walked into an emotional moment.
"Is everything okay?"
Denise looked up. He watched tears fall from her face as she said, "everything is fine. I am fine."
"You're lying. Did Roman do this?"
La lied, "Roman and Denise are fine. This is none of your concern."
John bypassed La, "Denise, do you need me?"
She felt her tears pressed hard against her eye lids, "I am okay. I just needed to cry."
John hugged her and said, "I know you're lying to me. You have ever right too. But I'm still your best friend and I will always be here for you."
He wrapped his arms around her and she let go. The warm embrace brought tears to his eyes. He whispered, "I'm sorry, if I did this to you."
