When It Raines, It Pours

Wednesday; Macy was placing books inside her locker when Raine tapped her shoulder. She smiled secretly, after everything Brandon had said, she suddenly felt excited to see Raine again.

She turned around and said, "You're gonna get suspended from this school and you don't even go here."

He raised his eyebrows and smirked, "If I don't go here ... then how can I get suspended?"

Macy sighed, pointing over his shoulder at a camera. "You're here. And the camera sees you here. And you don't go here."

"Huh." He stuck his tongue out at the camera and Macy slapped his shoulder playfully before turning back to her locker. Seconds later, Raine's hand was slowly entwining its way into hers and his sweet breath tickled her ear as he spoke. "But you're here ... and that's all that matters." Macy felt her cheeks going pink as he continued, squeezing her hand, "Plus ... I had to make sure you weren't still pissed at me." He paused and the way the next words rolled off his tongue made Macy's arm prick with goose bumps. "'Cause if you still are ... I can wait. Just for you."

She moved so she could stare into his eyes. "I barely know you, Raine. And you barely know me."

"So? We can fix that. I wanna get to know you so this can work."

She nodded slowly. "And what is ... this?"

He shrugged his shoulder, sticking his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. "Whatever you want it to be."

Macy smiled. "Give me a couple options."

He laughed out loud, shaking his head. "Are you really gonna make me do this?" She nodded a "yes", closed her locker and waited. Raine waited too. He paused just long enough for the bell to ring. "Oh. There's the bell," he wagged his finger at her, "You gotta get to class, young lady."

"And you're not gonna get out of this so easily." She reached for his wrist to pull it out of his pocket and he offered his hand.

Macy turned the corner, dragging Raine along until she found the room she was searching for. Mr. Ferreira.

He took hour long lunch breaks off campus and when the lights where off in his room that was always a good sign. Macy lugged Raine inside and waited patiently for him to speak.

He scratched his neck nervously and said, "I don't wanna go too fast."

But Macy just laughed at him, "Uh ... I'm pretty sure we skipped a few steps for a chance at the right way of starting something."

"And what is this something?" he asked but she held up her hand.

"Oh no. Don't try that. You never answered. Go ahead."

Raine looked down hesitantly. "Okay ... well ... you seem ... dateable."

"And you, me and God know I'm kissable." She joked as he chuckled a little.

"So what do you think?" he asked, staring intently into her pretty eyes.

Macy pondered for a moment, giggled silently and replied, "I think you're someone worth my time. But only because you're ..." she paused for dramatic effect, changing her voice into one of those movie over-voices, "Bond." She said with a smile, "James Bond."

The End
