          Another pensive expression crossed his face as she mentioned her father, and while he never cared for parents, much less the parents of his girls, it was eye opening information,  learning that the man was deaf. He did a double take, realizing that she said was as opposed to is. The man was obviously dead, but he wouldn't go on about it. "Ah," he said with a nod of regard. "I see. And yes, pain is no good for my little Lennox." His heart skipped a beat as she kissed his cheek and he smiled softly down at her, loving these little signs of affection she gave him at random moments. 

           Seeing her hesitation, he arched a questioning brow at her. "What's the matter? You're not afraid of the dark, are you love? Come on, get down those stairs. You're going to have to eventually. If not now, then later." He followed after her down the wooden staircase, checking out her arse on the way down, still holding his top hat in one hand.
