Isis bounded back to the Great Hall, her face flushing with happiness. She bumped right into Scorpius Malfoy and almost squealed as she threw her arms around his neck.
“I got it!! McGonagall said I did a wonderful job! Professor Dumbledore said he wished he was alive to teach a student like me!”
Isis jumped up and down happily, almost like a little child as Scorpius looked at her with amazement before giving her a pat on the shoulder.
“What’s going on?”
Lilly and Albus stepped from behind Scorpius with question marks in their eyes.
“I did it! I did it!”
It was almost as if they’d won a pot of Gallons. All of them were filled with joy and well wishes for Isis. She narrated to all three of them the story, excluding the private chat she had with Dumbledore about her parents. She would keep that to herself for now. Sometimes, not all could be said to her best friends.
Once breakfast was done and it was time to head to class. Albus, Scorpius and Isis headed to their first, Potions. On the way, they passed James in the corridor who ignored Isis and kept walking ahead. She barely noticed him either as she chattered happily to her friends.
After setting only one step into the room, she heard the bellowing of her walrus like teacher, Professor Slughorn.
Everyone turned around to stare at her as the professor approached her, beaming.
“I’m afraid you won’t be attending classes with the third years Isis. Here’s your new timetable.”
The professor handed her the paper and she noticed that she’d be having Potions with the fourth and fifth years after lunch.
“I can’t wait to get started with you. Since we’ve switched your subject timings, at this time you’ll be having a ‘free period’. So scurry off then and make sure to get to your other classes afterwards.”
Getting a strong thump on the back from Scorpius who winked at her, she left the room. Where should I go? Contemplating for a few minutes, she decided to head to the Quidditch pitch.
