"Do you think we spend too much time together?"
David stopped walking and turned to face Alec. The crisp autumn air stirred, and a crimson leaf fell into his brown curls.
"What? Why would you ask that?"
"I don't know. It's just... I don't really hang out with my other friends much. And I just--I don't know. Maybe I'm being stupid."
David laughed and started to walk backwards down the path, facing Alec.
"You're clearly just madly in love with me. It's completely understandable."
He tossed his hair and Alec laughed.
"Oh but of course! You are my beautiful Juliet!"
"What are you talking about? I'm clearly the man in this relationship!"
Alec walked past David and bowed low to the ground. "Whatever you say, m'lady."
David grabbed for Alec, missing him by an inch. Alec started to run down the forest path, and David followed, the yellow wind carrying their laughter up into the red trees.
