Destiny or just bad luck? Jai is about to find out.
Peering back, it appeared Jai had finally lost his pursuers. With that, he slowed his pace and took a few deep breaths before leaning on a nearby alley wall. Sweat dripped from his forehead while pulse raced. Somehow his Armani suit had retained all of the crisp creases from the morning though. It'd been a long, exhausting day, and by the new sounds echoing between the buildings, it wasn't over yet. After glancing upwards as if to ask Why me? with an eye roll, he continued his journey to a more crowded area.
No gun. No phone. Only his badge to his name at the moment. What he needed was a car. Peeking around the corner, eyes settled on a small speedster. Oh yeah, he could hot wire that. But as he made his way over, a woman hopped into the driver's seat. Normally this would have been bad news, but there was one little detail that Jai's ego was glossing over - the fact that his hands were cuffed behind him.
With a forced calm, sparkling smile, he approached. "Excuse me, ma'am. I need to commandeer your vehicle... and um, you." Hearing that come out of his mouth, it wasn't a bad pickup line at all. He'd have to remember that one. "I'm Agent Wilcox and right now, I'm in danger. I'm being chased. My ID is in my pocket and hands are currently cuffed. Do you know how to drive fast?" After the question, a gunshot rang out and hit a nearby metallic pole with a clang. With that, he couldn't wait for an answer and took the liberty of hopping into the passenger seat and ducking down. "Go, go, go!"
