School droned on in the background as I walked from lesson to lesson with Katy. My mind was filled with the usual rubbish, homework, friends, what I was going to do this weekend and of course Sam. He joined us at lunch and we talked as usual but I couldn't stop thinking about what it would feel like if he kissed me.
It was almost as if Katy was reading my thoughts because as Sam left she leaned in so the others couldn't hear. 'For God's sake ask him, I don't think any of us can take the awkward silences for much longer.'
'What awkward silences?'
'The ones where someone says something and you and Sam look at each other in the way that makes most people feel sick.' I rolled my eyes and walked off with my tray Katy close behind me.
'Alright, you want me to sort it.' I pulled out my mobile from my pocket and opened a new message.
Hey! You doing anything later? I thought we could hang out at mine tonight. Fancy it?
I hit send. 'That's what you call sorting it?' Katy looked at me with her eyebrows raised.
'No that's me organising a time when I can sort it.' I pocketed my mobile and walked off down the hall.
