Annie hurried to Molly's room only to find her daughter sound asleep. She kissed Molly's forehead, relieved that she wasn't feverish, and tucked the blanket around her shoulders. At the sound of tires squealing, Anne went to the window. Bill's car was almost out of sight. Annie glanced at Molly's teddy bear clock, it read 8:55am.
Carter answered on the forth ring. Annie whispered, "Can you talk?"
"Hi, beautiful," he answered.
"So I guess that means she isn't there."
"She's at Yoga. What's up?"
"Bill accused me of having an affair; he got a call from a woman that claimed she was your wife."
"Cindy, called him?"
"The woman didn't give her name, or yours. Could it have been Cindy?
Carter thought for a minute, then, "No. No way. If it had been Cindy she wouldn't be at the spa now. We'd be fighting."
Relief sounded in Annie's voice. "I didn't think so, but I had to check. I told him it was a jealous guard at the house. And it could have been, there are a couple of girls there jealous of me and you."
Bill asked, "Which two?" Annie laughed, "Wouldn't you like to know. I have to go now. I'll see you tonight."
In a low husky voice, Carter said, "Don't wear any panties tonight."
Annie laughed again, "We'll see," she said, "Night."
