The week seemed to go by very fast. It was Friday and I turned 17.
"I'm soooo old," I said to Heather.
"Hey, what happens when I turn 17 next month."
"You're old, too." I smiled. She punched me lightly on the arm. Mickey walked by with Amber. She whispering something in his ear and he smiled. He then stared at me and smiled. He threw me a paper airplane.
"Oooo, what's it say?"
"Hold on," I said unfolding it.
Happy birthday, Melanie! Sorry I couldn't say it personally. Anyway, I'll come over tonight. You know, you wish you Happy Birthday and give you my gift. Sorry about Monday. I hope you don't feel weird around me, now. Anyway, Happy Birthday again, sweetheart.
Heather smiled at me.
When I drove back to my house, a present was waiting in my room. A camera from my mom, and a brand new DVD player from my dad. I smiled. At around 10:00 at night, Mickey came from my balcony.
"Happy birthday, sweetheart." He hugged me and kissed my cheek. "And I got you a gift."
He handed a cold piece of metal. It was a locket.
"Here let me put it on for you." I lifted my hair and put it on me.
I opened it. Inside was a picture of him and me together one side, and a picture of me on the other side.
"Thank you soooo much. It's beautiful."
He smiled, hugging me again. He lifted me and spun me around and dropped me gently on my bed.
I loved his present. Mickey and I hung out for a while until it was around midnight. He kissed me on the forehead and left.
I touched the locket. I smiled and went to sleep.
