Word Unspoken

Gordon Journal Entry 54

I finally said something to Emma today. She sat down beside me on the bus, which kind of surprised me. Although I have wondered about what her thoughts are, she has never done anything by her actions to indicate that she likes me or even notices me. I wish there was a way for me to know for sure. I want to know what her thoughts are. I will have to ponder that one some more.

One thing I know for sure is that words spoken aren't going to be my strong suit with her. I tried to say "hi" today on the bus. Did I mention that she sat down beside me on the bus, which kind of surprised me?  Yes, I think I did. Okay, yes, I did. I just looked back at what I wrote, and I did already say that. Where was I? Oh yeah!

I tried to say "hi," but the word didn't really come out right. Embarrased, I turned toward the window, sitting there in silence. Then, I realized that she had said "hi" back, which made me smile. Just a little, though. I didn't want to seem like a total dork, after all.

The End
