I, without wings underneath the sky

Chapter Two

“Edgar, Edgar what went wrong?” Edgar mutters to himself.

“You pondered weak and weary, nevermore.” Replies Quoth his electric blue feathers fluttering in the spring breeze.

“I know, it wasn’t my fault. Lucien was going to start an uprising, and I couldn’t say no. Not to him anyway.”

“You could’ve left on a midnight dreary. Nevermore.”

“Shut up. Anyway Llyse will be here soon, and I don’t want any disruptions.”

As if on cue a strongly built girl with dark skin and close cropped hair walks into the room.

“Did you bring it?” She asks him.

“How many days until you’re free?”

“Simple, just don’t leave footprints. Where is it?”

“What did he just say.”

“Nevermore.” Repeats Quoth.

“Where is it!”

“Ah, here is the issue.”

“Oh for gods sake you didn’t loose it. Did you?”

“No. I just don’t have it right now.”

“Why not?”

“Lucifer found out and had Raphael send over angels.”

“Which district?”

“Damn you!” Screams Llyse.

“What, the Omega camp has the lowest authority.”

“Raphael wouldn’t send over the Omegas for no reason, there must be something. Or someone. In the meantime just get out of my sight. I will meet you at the waning moon. And you will have the flame!”

“Goodbye Llyse.”

“Goodbye Edgar.”
