Chapter Sixteen (Part 17)

We walked in silence, from the center of the main room out the connecting door to the garden. Strangely enough, no one was around and it was the perfect setting for Jensen and I to have some privacy and talk (this time, without me making an idiot of myself hopefully). He led me to a stone bench near the outer rims of the garden which were set on higher ground, overlooking the several flowers and the water fountains on the right. It was a beautiful view and as Jensen and I sat down, I couldn’t help but wonder if he’d had a tour of the place before coming to see me at the bar.

“What a night, huh?”

I gave him a look.

“What?” He grinned. “Okay, apart from you drinking more than your body can handle and throwing up on me, you have to admit it’s been a pretty cool evening.”

I hummed a ‘yes’ in reply, as my hands rested on my lap, folded, and I stared at them. Anything to get my focus off of Jensen for as long as I could. I was going to have to get used to being out of breath around him. I was going to have to get used to the fact that my brain went to absolute mush every time he gave me that charming boyish grin of his. It didn’t help at all when he rested his hand on top of mine.

“Did I make you uncomfortable before? When we were kissing, that is.”
