Chapter Sixteen (Part 10)

If there was anything more intoxicating to the senses than a martini, it was Jensen’s very presence next to me. I was dang sure that our hearts were beating in unison as he leaned in, and kissed my forehead before speaking against it, the softness of his lips making my toes curl already.

“Well, you look exquisite in this little black number.”

His mouth journeyed playfully downwards to my nose, giving it a peck before resting near my left cheek. I bit my lip to stop from giggling; nothing should ruin this moment. I wanted to remember the way his butterfly kisses against my skin made my heart pound like today would be my last. Unfortunately, my girly shyness overcame me and I looked down but Jensen didn’t hesitate to nudge my face back upwards.

His eyes fixed on mine, the moonlight making them look all kinds of beautiful. My breath was already catching and I contemplated in the back of my mind, why in the world I had wasted all these years hating him when I could have been feeling like this.

“You know,” he whispered, kissing the corner of my mouth. The familiar tingles spread all over as my gaze dropped to his lips, waiting... “Now that I’ve got you all alone, there’s something I’ve been meaning to do...”

Jensen was just as impatient as me and had zero tolerance for teasing. I didn’t even have to pull him forward because within an instant, his lips were on mine, and it was like the very first time. Like a tender touch on the verge of blossoming into something more than just innocent. I reached up on my toes, trying to get as much of him as I could. And the kiss transformed just as I knew it would; into a frenzy.

Jensen was no longer seeking the slow passion we’d been building at the start. He sucked and tugged at my bottom lip, pushing me back against the wall as gently as he could. My body arched towards his, unaware of everything else but him. All that he was, and all that we could be together unfolded as the most adventurous of dreams in the back of my mind.

But soon enough, it all went to hell, as most things this particular night had.
