“And why are you so red?” Lea pointed out so kindly with question marks in her eyes. I looked at Jensen then back at her, before crossing my arms in front of my chest and saying in a haughty tone, “It’s Jensen’s fault. He pushed me.”
Now the spotlight was on him. I tried not to grin at how he squirmed a bit under their gazes, before recomposing himself. “We got into a tiny argument, that’s all.”
“I’m sure it was bigger than tiny, considering you just killed my boyfriend’s favourite plate!” Lea scolded. “You know that was the plate from our first dinner date together? I nicked it from the restaurant!"
“You did what?” I looked at her in absolute horror having just discovered my sister was not only insane but also a thief.
“It was such a difficult task but I did it for Jet and now it’s broken!” Lea dramatically fell to the ground, picking at the pieces on the floor with tears in her eyes. Jet sighed and crouched down next to her, putting his arm around her shoulders.
“It was Louie’s time to go my darling.”
The plate has a name?
Jet glared daggers at me and Jensen angrily from over his shoulder and we both scrambled to his aid, comforting Lea and helping pick up the pieces that were left of poor dead Louie. I tried not to think much about the insanity of it all as I helped clean up over the remains of a dearly loved plate, apologizing repeatedly to Lea who’s eyes were misting over in tears. I knew I shouldn’t have expected anything less from a couple like the two of them.
