Her grin didn’t disappear. “Try it on. Trust me.”
“The things I do for you,” I muttered, quickly stripping out of my clothes and into the dress. It didn’t feel as tight as it had before, probably since I’d lost weight over the years. Bringing out my hair from underneath, I then turned to face Lea who gasped – being her over-dramatic self.
“You look hot and not at all like yourself.”
I paused. Was that a compliment or a back-handed insult?
“Just sit down on the bed, I’ll be right back.” She ran out the room, my tired eyes following her but within a matter of seconds, she was back with her make-up kit. Before I got the chance to argue with her, she cut me. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to do much. Just some eye shadow, and a tiny bit of lipstick. Close your eyes.”
I followed her instructions. Lea praised herself under her breath as she worked on me. Things like “I’m such a mastermind”, “I’m such a pro” and a bunch of other ‘I’s’. Finally, when she finished, she told me to keep my eyes shut and helped me to my feet.
“Okay…now you may fall at my feet and worship me.”
I opened my eyes. And…bloody hell, I actually considered doing just that. I looked like some Hollywood starlet. Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration but I’d never known I could look this physically appealing.
The make-up had worked wonders on me, even though it had been just a little. Lea had taken the honor to dab a dark shade of eye-shadow which made me look a whole lot sexy. It matched my stormy eyes and the color of the dress as well, which stopped an inch or two above my knees. Short but not horribly so.
“You’re smoking babe,” Lea grinned, placing her arm on my shoulder as she leaned against me with a very self-satisfied grin. “You’ll definitely knock him dead.”
