It was the last day of summer and Mickey and I were sitting on my bed talking. Heather was out with Jordan and we would be meeting them later.

"Well," I said, "here's my schedule."

I handed him my paper. We ended up having most of our classes together except English and Math.

"Well, I'll talk to them about that," said Mickey. We put our schedules aside and smiled at each other.

"Do you have everything ready for tomorrow?"

 I nodded. Mickey wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. The end of the summer kiss, the days we could kiss forever were over.

"Thanks for everything," I said. I had found out Mickey was the reason Sam had quit. Well, he had something to do with it. I don't know what he did, but that didn't matter.

"I'm always there for you, sweetheart," said Mickey.

"I love the way you love me."

He smiled. I wrapped my arms around him. I kissed him. Tomorrow was the first day we would walk into school as a couple. Tomorrow was the day we would start the last year of school. The last year together.

But I wouldn't think of that now. This kiss was perfect. Flawless. And I smiled. I would live in the moment.

"I love the way you love me," he said. We laid side by side and looked at each other smiling. And I slowly closed my eyes, gently falling to sleep with Mickey by my side, stroking my hair.
