It all happened so quickly.

One minute we were laughing at bad knock knock jokes, the next some guy making a weird buzzing sound had stumbled across the road.

He looked drunk, Jack had gone to him, and grabbed his shoulder trying to steady him.

Then he went mental.

The second Jack's hand touched him, the buzz he was making increased, like a thousand wasps storming through a big empty church.

He lunged at Jack, burying his head into his shoulder. Jack screamed. A horrible, blood curdling, hair raising scream as the Buzzer's teeth plunged into his neck.

He pushed at his attacker, desperately trying to get him off, but the Buzzer wouldn't budge. I was frozen, no part of me wanting to move anywhere but away. Then I heard Alia scream.

"Jack!" She was crying, my brain kicked in. I launched forward, my foot swung back and forward, upwards into the Buzzer's face. My foot jarred backwards as it's nose exploded with blood. 

I fell backwards as my foot throbbed. The Buzzer went limp and rolled onto the floor.

Alia stumbled over me and fell to her knees next to Jack, he was writhing around, clutching at his neck. It was gushing blood.

I climbed to my feet, tested my foot and joined her.

She was sobbing, my hoody drenched at the neck with tears and at the sleeves with blood.

He was still alive, mumbling and struggling for breath.

Then i heard another scream, it was Mel, she was screaming for help. But there was no help... nobody was coming out of the houses surrounding us. There was a young girl screaming blue murder at the top of her lungs and nobody was even twitching the curtains.

BUZZ.

I swung to look at the Buzzer. He was splayed out on the floor, his face shattered, i had caused more damage than i expected. The nose was completely annihilated, the jaw was at an odd angle. He was dead.

But then.

BUZZ. BUZZ. BUZZ. 

It was coming from down the street. And the moment i looked, i wish i hadn't.

I suddenly understood why nobody had come, and all i could do was stop myself from fainting as i looked upon the wall of dead eyed, blood splattered townspeople making the most horrific buzzing sound you have ever heard.

PREMISE
It’s your basic zombie premise, somebody has developed a drug which was supposed to help the human race, instead it turns them all into brainless, flesh eating zombies. But it has a twist. While society is collapsing, some of the ‘HYPErs’ have begun to roam around, hoping to recreate a new world with them at the helm.
Small parts of the world have remained uninfected, you can use any part of the world but please keep all the characters English speaking, and please become familiar with the rules, read the types of infected list below and keep to it, and please try to keep everybody informed before you write a new chapter, but most of all have fun!

TYPES OF INFECTED
-Buzzers: The grunts of the Infected, they are slow, stupid and weak due to the malnourishment that HYPE causes. The name comes from the buzzing noise that they make when they move, like a wasp. These are the most common. Buzzers can only be transformed by a bite from another Buzzer.
-Screamers: Soldiers, they are fast moving and completely focused on feeding. They make a horrific screaming noise when attacking. Screamers can only be transformed by a bite from a Screamer.
-Betas: These are the first type of still sentient infected.
-Brains: A sub type of Beta, in which the HYPE physically weakens them, but immensely increases brain power, making them incredibly smart and tactful. An example is Mel.
-Crunchers: A sub type of Beta, in which the HYPE decreases brain power but immensely increases physical strength. An example is Alia.
-Alphas: The top of the chain of the infected. Mental and physical abilities are both increased to superhuman levels. Animal like tendencies are also displayed, such as fangs and claws. An example is Sammy, who also developed a scorpion like tail.
