Dancing

Lukas Samuels:

" Would you care to dance Madame?" I held out my hand and waited for Violet to slip her fingers through mine. A small giggle escaped from her mouth as I lightly placed my hands on her waist. Music filled the air as other couples from the party joined in on the dancing. It's unusual for Violet to be dancing. She hates going to parties. Especially when there is dancing.

I slightly tilted my head down and kissed her forehead. She looked up through her long eyelashes and smiled. She pulled herself closer and closer until  our lips brushed and-

"Ow." I mumbled against her lips. She's stepped on my foot while we danced.

Violet looked down and instantly blushed. "Oh my God. Sorry." A small smile appeared. I can't help but smile back.

"Come here." I laughed gently as I quickly pulled her into a hug. She snuggled in against my chest like she usually does. I placed my check on top of her head.

Holding her like this, I just never wanted to let her go. I wanted to shelter her from the world, from her mother. Before I even knew it, three words slipped out, like word vomit.

" I love you. "

I could feel the tensity in the air following my confession. Violet had stopped dancing and now just held still. Not saying a word. "Violet?" I asked quietly. "Hm?", was the only response I got.

"D-Did you hear what I said?" I swear to God my heart was so loud at that moment. It pounded in my ears, pushing away the sweet sound of the music. I felt like my stomach had dropped. My hands felt clammy. After a long moment of silence, Violet replied.

"Yeah, I heard." I grabbed her shoulders and pushed her back so I could look at her face. It was entirely expressionless. I felt like shaking her.

"...Well?" I said through tight lips. She stood awkwardly in front of me. She wouldn't meet my gaze. "Thank you?",She mumbled. She finally looked up at me. Shock was clear in her eyes.

"Thank you?!" ,I nearly shouted. People looked up from their dances to gawk at us. I shook my head to myself and grabbed her hand. I dragged her all the way outside, ignoring the cold air that nipped at our bare skin. I spun around and looked straight at her.

"What are you doing?" She snapped. I ignored her question.

"What is wrong with you? Didn't you hear what I said?" She crossed her arms over her chest and nodded. "Then why aren't you saying anything back?", I asked a little more gently. That's when Violet broke down, and crumpled to the ground.

"I don't know what to do, it's just so confusing." She covered her face with her hands, slowly shaking her head.

"Hey," I whispered softly to her, grabbing her hands and rubbing them. "what is there to be confused about?" She scoffed and looked the other way.

"Why would someone as... amazing as you like someone like me?",She muttered. I almost laughed out loud.

" Who wouldn't like you? " I lifted her chin towards me. " You're perfect."

And just like that she kissed me. And the world was set on fire. Liked I cared.

Authors Note~~ I realize there are a lot of errors in the story. I'm working on editing it. It shall be a slow process but it'll be worth it. :)

Gracie Andrews is crushing on her best friend Jayden Wyatt who's currently going out with his flirtatious long term girlfriend Kylie Night who's cheating on him with Carson Brice ( Gracies boyfriend) whilst a classmate of his, Lukas Samuels, is deeply in love with his girlfriend Violet Lynn, but is too afraid to utter a word to her about his true feelings.

Crazy, right?
