Totally And Completely In Love

Violet Lynn:

I felt really relaxed as me and Lukas lay in the bathtub. Sure it’s kind of odd that a couple would be found in an unfilled bathtub but come on! Be a little rebellious and weird and you’ll find yourself having fun. Outside the bathroom door I could hear the party winding down. Must be close to midnight. I sat up and got out of the tub.

“Wh-where are you going?” asked an obviously sleepy Lukas. His eyes fluttered a little bit as he tousled his own curly blonde hair. I grabbed his hand and helped him out of the tub.

“Have to get home. Almost curfew.” I gave him a sad smile. He knew how much I hated going home. Where my mom was, blaming me for every wrong in her life. Dad is hardly there to help me out; he's usually drunk. I sighed and we walked out together into the crowded living room. The music had been turned down and very little few people were dancing. A bunch of boys sitting on a near by couch that obviously couldn’t hold their weight gave Lukas a thumbs up, looking from me to Lukas to the now opened bathroom door. I rolled my eyes and dragged Lukas through the crowd.

We finally made it to the open door; I took a deep breath of the fresh air. The cold wind felt refreshing from the heated room. Lukas and I slowly walked over to his car. I glanced at him. He was busy gazing deeply up at the velvet darkness. The stars glistened slightly against the black. The silver light of the crescent moon gave Lukas’ face a spooky appearance. I laugh at this and hurried over to his car.

“Do you want me to drive? You look like you could pass out.” I murmur as he slumps down into the driver’s seat. He gives me a sheepish grin and nods.

The drive to my house is filled with silence. Lukas starts falling deeper and deeper asleep and I smile to myself. He is so great.

We make it to my crummy house and he walks me to the door. “Thanks for hiding with me during the party. I know it must’ve had been pretty boring for you.” I give him another sad smile. He shakes his head.

“I had fun with you. See you tomorrow.” He leaned in and gave me a quick peck on the cheek just before he walked back to his car. “Night!” I call after him. I sigh happily and slide silently through my old oak door. Suddenly I’m slapped in the face by my mother who looks utterly pissed off.

“Why are you always disobeying my rules! Your curfew was a half an hour ago! I was just about to call the bloody police to report a missing. You should know better then to go out until one in the freaking morning with some boy.” My mom’s cold silver eyes showed no emotion of worriment. Nothing but anger. I held back the tears that tried to flow down my eyes and I ran past her down to the basement. There, I allowed them to trickle down my flushed cheeks. My mothers’ ranting was still heard as I crawled under my covers. There I cried quietly.

I hated my family. Absolutely hated them for being so cruel and unappreciative. I feel the ache of my heart beat. I feel the loneliness invading my thoughts when suddenly my heart skips. Lukas’ face shows up in my mind and I’m filled with butterflies and happiness. My heart now aches for him. I miss him.

I gasp as I realize the amazing truth. I think I love him.

The End
