Use the chain holding your back yard's gate closed instead

You go out the door. Your dog, Zorro, follows you out and bolts toward a squirrel. It looks like it's about to rain. You close the door behind you, and chase after your dog.

You grab Zorro by the collar, and drag him toward the gate. You take the chain off the fence, and make your way toward the back door of your house. When you get there, you realize that the door was locked from the other side, and you are locked out of the house.

A bolt of lightning strikes nearby. Thinking quickly, you remember that your garage is unlocked. You drag your dog toward the garage door, and quickly get inside before it starts to rain.

You wait for five minutes, because you think it may not actually rain. But then, a massive downpour starts up. There's no way a locksmith would come in this kind of weather.
