Later that evening Dawn's eyes squeezed shut as his muscles contracted, he failed to hold the snarl that built in his throat. A cold hand closed around his own balled fist he opened his eyes and saw Gabriel, water dripped from the vampyres hair running down is pale face. Dawn reached up sluggishly and brushed a finger over Gabriel's slightly pink cheeks.
“You’re cold.” Dawn growled.
“The waters still cold.”
“Still?” Dawn grumbled “at least the heating is starting to work.” Gabriel frowned “its boiling.” Dawn said seeing the look.
“It’s a little warmer perhaps.” Gabriel said before pressing the back of his hand to Dawn's forehead, the daemon was coated in a fine layer of cold sweat but the skin beneath burned. “Dawn, I think you're running a fever.”
“Perhaps” Dawn brushed Gabriel's hand away and sat up. Gabriel moved as Dawn swung his legs out of the bed and stood up. “Are you going back to the tunnel?” Dawn asked flicking on the kettle, his movements were languid and awkward as he made his drink. Then the daemon pulled a small cupboard open and pulled out a half full bottle of Jack Daniels.
“Dawn?” Gabriel frowned the lighter stopped an inch from the vampyres cigarette as he watched the daemon move back to the bed.
“Hm?” Dawn said vaguely putting the bottle and the coffee on the bedside table.
“Where did you get that?”
“The bar” Dawn said lifting the bottle he swallowed a large mouthful and pulled a face.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea?”
“It helps me sleep.” Dawn shrugged Gabriel sighed.
“Alright but don’t drink too much, or you'll be sleeping on the floor.” Dawn nodded waving a dismissive hand.
“I wont.” He said looking around he saw the vampyre climb into bed. “is it bedtime?” he frowned looking at his watch. “its only nine thirty.” Dawn frowned as if his watch was lying to him then looked at Gabriel. “I wonder where Allegra is” he said lifting his coffee.
Allegra nodded slightly as the huge daemon whose hands she rested in told the other daemons in the room his plan.
“We should get who we can” he boomed Allegra wondered if she could get back to Holehallow and warn Gabriel and Dawn as the other daemons muttered in agreement.
