“Dawn what is it about me?” Gabriel said lighting a cigarette.
“What do you mean?” Dawn asked he knew what the vampyre meant but didn’t fancy losing any more blood.
“What do you like about me?”
“A lot” Dawn said.
“Like?” Gabriel growled
“like the fact that you're a vicious little bastard but underneath I can see that you're gentle and a little bit sweet when you want to be” Dawn shrugged Gabriel looked away thinking.
“I'm not you know” he said Dawn laid the cloth over his knee his lip had stopped bleeding again.
“You’re gorgeous” Dawn smiled.
“I'm not” Gabriel growled.
“Gabriel” Dawn said firmly but gently “you are and you cant tell me otherwise because you cant change what I see” Gabriel looked at him as his mind remembered a similar conversation. Dawn smiled as much as he could as Gabriel tried to stop his head from tilting.
“Dawn” he said “I know you” Dawn's eyes widened.
“What?” he laughed
“I know you” Gabriel said staring intently at the daemon.
“Of course you know me” Gabriel shook his head.
“No” he growled “I know you from somewhere else.”
“From where?” Dawn asked he didn’t want to interrupt Gabriel's train of thought.
“I don’t know, it could only beParadise”
“Yes?” Dawn prompted Gabriel shut his eyes Dawn watched the vampyres brow crease beyond concentration to annoyance and he gripped both of Gabriel's wrists gently.
“Gabriel?” he said the icy eyes opened again.
“I hate my memory” Gabriel snarled
“Why?” Dawn asked.
“Because its shit” Gabriel grumbled Dawn laughed softly.
“Because it blocks things out?” Dawn asked.
“That” Gabriel agreed “and it changes what I actually saw”
