Halley's Comet

She stands alone in a crowded room. A desolate comet traveling alone through the darkness, shrouded in the shadows of its own facade - she did not greet the stars or one of the thousand moons she passed. They marked the beginning and end of a perpetual night. Some will call this forever lasting solitude a personal bliss, alone in ones thoughts. These people do not know what it is like to lead a lonely existence.

The saddest thing was that this was a waste but this was what she was. She did not know of beauty she left in her wake; lighting up the sky in vibrant colours that have never existed before, their filaments dazzling you as their hypnotic essence seeped into every pore of your skin. You would be drawn to her as you travelled you own path through the night sky, and for the briefest instant you could be burning as one. Once your paths took their separate ways, you would be surrounded by a vivid brilliancy that had her signature drawn all over it in phosphorus ink.

Your eyes would be so blinded by her light that you could no longer see. Art, faith, love and life would bear no more meaning for you. Your heart would die as the temperature fell from the burning fire she lit up in you and became merely a diamond of ice, with too many flaws to ever be pretty, too much sand & dirt around the edges to ever reflect any light. The fingerprints she left on your soul would soon scar into pink puckered lines that could not be penetrated by anything other than her light.

And she will never come back.

She stands alone in a crowded room. A desolate comet traveling alone through the darkness, shrouded in the shadows of its own facade. Do not let the gravity of her beauty suck you in. It will spit you out a bitter twisted man, disfigured by the scars of un-requited love. For she is a lone traveller and you will never be her companion. Allow her to make her path & appreciate the pretty lights but do not wish for more; gluttony is a sin. The light she gives you is enough for you to see your way. She only comes once in a lifetime.

The End
