If he called me a kid one more time, I was seriously going to loose it. He stared at me, angrily, whereas Chandra was looking at me as if I was dumb. I knew what she was thinking. Small, nerdy Ciro, can't fight, and can't stand up for himself.
"Have you got a death wish?" Chandra asked me, incredulously. Shain stared at me, and stepped closer. I wasn't waiting to find out if he was being serious or not, so I turned and ran. I could hear them laughing behind me, and I was being embarrassed.
For a smart person, I had just done something incredibly stupid by making my self known to one of the toughest groups in the school. I ran through the school main door's and shut myself in the nearest classroom, breathing heavily.
Looking round, I noticed I was in a science lab. There was no teacher luckily, so I sat down to rest. Hopefully they wouldn't see the point in bothering me again. In fact, I could almost guarantee that by the end of the day, I would be forgotten. I didn't seem to have one of those faces people remembered. I just had the brains.
I decided I would do my maths homework to calm down, so I pulled out my statistic work. Binomial expansion.
I was half way through my paper, when I girl around my age walked in. She was tall, taller than me, and she had long blonde hair. She smiled at me, so I smiled back.
"Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be in here, with the weather being so nice." She said to me.
"I got in a bit of trouble so..." I was aware that It made me sound like I was a nuisance or something, which I wasn't.
"I see." she said laughing. "So your hiding."
"No, no, I'm not. Just, well... I'm doing my homework." I tried to explain. She just nodded and sat down next to me.
"Binomial expansion. It sounds fun." She said. I agreed excitedly and then realised she was being sarcastic.
"Well I guess it could be, if you knew it." she said, and I smiled. She wasn't taking the mic out of me.
"So why are you in here?" I asked her.
"Oh, you know, this and that." It wasn't really much of an answer, but I let it drop.
"I'm Ciro, by the way." I said to her.
"Elidi." She told me back, grinning.
