Chapter 3.4 The UnseenMature

Lilac fell asleep sometime after she had put on her new clothes. A few hours later, she was shaken awake.

“Wake up miss.” The voice whispered.

Lilac opened her eyes and jumped back in surprise. A small face was pressed against her’s. As Lilac rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, she studied the creature that was standing in front of her. It was small creature, completely golden that floated a few feet off the ground.

“Hello miss.” It said in a voice just as small as its size.

“H-hello.” She muttered, slightly surprised. “You are...”

“A sprite.” It sang. “A golden sprite to be exact.”

“Oh...” Lilac nodded. Ok. this was weird. And unfortunately, Lilac didn’t really know how to react to this. “Uh, cool?”

The sprite flew up closer to her.

“Can you see me?” It whispered as it watched her with its wide glossy eyes.

Lilac nodded.

“Of course I can see you.” Why did it ask that? Wasn’t it obvious that it was floating right in front of her eyes?

The sprite giggled. It landed on the bed with a light sigh of relief.

“Oh goody. Finally someone!”

“Huh?” Lilac was slightly confused. Could people not see it? The sprite seemed to have noticed her confusion.

“Not everyone has the gift to see me.” It said. “I’m actually a spirit.”

“A gift?”

“You can see spirits!” It shrieked with a giggle.

“Huh?” Liac stared at it quite confused. What did it mean?

“You don’t know?” It said, watching her its wide glossy eyes. Lilac shook her head. “Oh.”

It jumped off her bed and landed lightly on the table besides the bed. It looked around before it plopped down.

“Well, I’m gonna have to tell you then.”

Lilac leaned forward curiously.

“Tell me what?”

“Tell you about the hidden world.”
