A New FriendshipMature

I awoke in a place I haven’t been in a very long time. It was Mia’s family room, though things have changed here. It was a welcome sight considering what I had just been through. I’ve not been in this form in a long time. It’s very rare that us guardians have need of the human form, but sometimes its unavoidable in a weakened state. It’ll be a while before I’m back to my former self. My body ached all over, who was that person? How did he best me? I will destroy him if he threatens Mia again.

Now let’s see if I can remember this. Sounds simple, moving, but when you’re used to walking around as a 16ft dragon it throws your co-ordination out. I stretched out my leg, put my weight on it and instantly I found myself on the floor. To top it off I realised I wasn’t wearing any clothes (seemed natural for me, but not to humans apparently!).  I wrapped myself back in the blanket and gathered all my concentration to stand up. I heard Mia upstairs; she’s never seen me like this before.

She eventually came down stairs were she found me surveying my surrounding.

“Are you ok ?! What’s your name? What were you doing there? Where are your clothes! ” she frantically asked.

I didn’t even know how to respond to her questions.

I simple replied “It’s me, Draco.” She stared at me with a confused look on her face. I tried to explain what had happened and returned with a question of my own, “what happened to the guy that attacked you”.

She responded with “I don’t know.” I believed her.

She couldn’t believe that her imaginary dragon friend was a not so imaginary human. She was acting differently, like she was shy and nervous. I would be to if I was her position. But I leaned in and hugged her to calm her down.

The End
