Summary

Ever since her alcoholic father abandoned her, seventeen-year-old Sanny has seen herself as a hero who protects her closest friends from being hurt by the people around them.  But when she sets her BFF, Juliet, up with a boy she hopes will bring the shy girl out of her shell, her actions draw out a stalker who has been hovering on the fringes of both their lives for more than a decade, unraveling Sanny’s carefully-spun illusion that she can keep anyone, much less her best friend, safe from danger.

Juliet has lived her life in near-seclusion, thanks to the scar disfiguring her face and the traumatic memories of a murder she witnessed as a little girl.  She lives vicariously through Sanny's romances, believing that love is a distant dream she will never achieve, until the night she meets a boy with eyes as blue as an ocean, their seductive undercurrent pulling her into a tormented and potentially deadly love triangle that could end up tearing apart not only her friendship with Sanny, but the fabric of their whole world.
