Ami

Ami places a plate in front of me and sits opposite. I look down, a steak covering half the plate, chips and onion rings. My stomach rumbles, I know I will eat all of this.

"I owe you answers" Ami says, takes a sip of her water and sits back. I eat a chip slowly. The saltyness fills my mouth, it tastes so good, I will savour every taste. "And I am so sorry for leaving you on that rock"

"What?" I say.

"You begged me to leave you Fort, I ran into the mist, I figured after you woke up you'd come back here, I'm glad I came back here myself"

"What?" I repeat.

"I'll start from the beginning, because none of this makes sense, you don't even know who I am do you?"

"No"

"Okay" she gets up, and walks over to the kitchen table, takes something, and walks back over, a picture, of me and her. "This is us, we're best friends Fort, we have been since we were kids, best friends forever....." she sits opposite me. "And in the past few days I nearly lost you. I've never been so scared in my life.... you're suffering from amnesia after you fell over in the desert"

"Oh" it makes sense. I woke up not remembering who I was, where I was, and what was going on with my life. Now, I'm getting the answers I need. Finally.

The End
