Alice awoke to see Snape and Madame Pomphery hovering over her head, looking down at her. She tried to sit up, but she felt a sharp jab in her stomach and laid back down.
"Augh..I'm really starting to hate it here," Alice said.
"I don't think anyone really enjoys it much," said Snape. Alice let out a slight chuckle and felt another jab in her stomach.
"What the fuck was I thinking? Going swimming in January? And I was so used to being able to breathe underwater...stupid, stupid, stupid...Just think, if you hadn't gotten to me in time, I'd be..."
"Yeah," said Snape. "Yeah, you would be." They stared at eachother for a while and Madame Pomphrey walked over to her closet.
"I'm so lucky. So lucky I have you," Alice said in a whisper.
"I will never let anything hurt you. I promise. You'll be safe..always." He sealed his promise by gently kissing Alice's massive pink lips.
"I love you."
"I love you too," Severus whispered back.
Madame Pomphery came back in with what appeared to be a vile of blood.
"What's that?" asked Alice.
"This," said Madame Pomphrey, "is your blood. And I just put a charm on it that will diagnose ANY medical condition."
"And?" asked Snape. "Is she ill?"
"Not quite..." said Madame Pomphrey.
"Not quite?" asked Snape. "What do you mean by that?"
"Well, it's not really a sickness. Actually most people would be quite happy to hear this...although, in your case, I'm sure it's a bit...unexpected."
"Unexpected?" asked Alice. "What is it? What happened to me?"
Alice sat for a moment, not believeing what she's just heard.
That's impossible, she assured herself. She's lying! But why would Maame Pomphrey lie to me?
"That's impossible!" said Snape, repeating Alice's thoughts.
"I'm afraid it's true."
"Who's the father?" said Alice, flatly.
Snape looked at her. Alice could tell that up until now Draco hadn't crossed his mind.
"Who's the father?" Alice said again a little more sternly but still in that flat, hollow voice that fills anyone with fear when they hear it.
"Well, I-I don't know. I can't tell who's the father but i would assume it's him," she made a gesture towards Snape. Snape nodded his head in a way that looked like he just needed to feel dominant.
"How long have I been pregnant?" asked Alice.
"I'd say about three weeks," said Madame Pomphrey.
"Three weeks?" Alice asked. Three weeks ago she and Draco had been together. She cursed under her breath.
"So who's the father?" asked Madame Pomphrey, the only one out of the three of them who was completely unaware of what three weeks meant.
"Draco," whispered Alice. "Draco Malfoy, he's the father."
