After everyone had left, Snape gave Alice a kiss on the cheek before apparating.
Voldemort flicked his wand and the table and all the chairs vanished except for one chair.
"Sit," he said. Alice wearily sat in the chair, then Voldemort spoke again. "I see you and Severus are together again. How touching." Alice could hear the insinceritry in his voice. "It would be such a tragedy if something were to . . . happen to him." She looked at him, her eyes full of worry and concern.
"What do you mean?"
"Be a good and loyal servant to me. Or Severus might be Nagini's next meal." Voldemort looked at Alice's horror-struck face with satisfaction. "You may leave."
Happy Christmas, thought Alice to herself. She apparated back to Spinner's End.
