The detective didn't smile, he didn't even blink as he crossed the few feet to the table and sat down.
"Okay, listen kid. I'm going to be blunt. Your in some serious shit. A young family burned to death in that blaze. We've got your prints on the lighter. You're looking at four counts of man slaughter. What do you have to say for yourself?"
That was when the first few tears carved their way down his soot stained face. Tanner closed his eyes and swallowed hard, a lump forming in his throat.
"I'm.. sorry." whispered Tanner.
