“And here is the Great Hall of the Lockwood castle.” Lucian proudly smiles as he looks upon his home. Large windows surround them, designed to let as much light in as possible. White marble stretches across the floor as black marble surrounds it, reaching for the glass ceiling. “When the lady moon shines, the whole hall sparkles with her radiance.” Lucian’s eyes lock with Vi’s, causing her to blush and attempt to look away. “Not as nearly as beautiful as you my dear.” With a low bow, he winks at Vi, his cheeky smile spreading across his face as he wiggles his eyebrows suggestively. Siera laughs, throwing her arms around the bashful Vi. “He liiikkes you.” She giggles before pushing Vi closer to Lucian and bouncing off to look at the constellations carved into the marble across the walls, leaving Lucian to his wiggling eyebrows.
The muscles in Ren’s jaw tightens as his eyes narrow. Following his eye line, Nova tilts her head as she looks at the end of the hall where two thrones sit. They are made from a rich silver, the arms are shaped like wolf heads whereas the back of the chairs stretch out like large stars. Moving closer, Nova can see that the thrones share the constellations engraved into the silver. “You may stay here as long as you need. If there is anything you need, ask and you shall receive.” Ren’s voice is loud in the silent hall, his words empty of emotion. Tilting her head to the side, Nova can see the sorrow in Ren’s eyes as they linger on the thrones before he looks out one of the large windows.
Ricorn leans down, talking to Ophi as her finger lightly touch the deep scar along his nose, giggling at the unusual texture of scar tissue.
Standing in a nearby corner, hidden in the shadows, Sting scans the room for any threat that could endanger Nova. Leonardo catches her eye, his hand on the hilt of his sword. Rius glares at the constellations from the centre of the hall. Sighing slightly, Nova wishes that she could ease their tension so that they could appreciate this village dedicated to the heavens above.
The sound of heavy heels against stone can be heard before the old crooked figure appears through the doors of the Great Hall. The snake around Ophi tightens slightly as the figure and Tody look at each other. The figures face is wrinkled, hidden among the wire-like hair sprouting from the top of the strangers head and their bony chin.
Turning, the green dress around the figure sways, showing a glimpse of black heels. “Should have known that you would come to introduce yourself to our guests, Seer. As for the dress, I prefer the blue one.” Lucian laughs before nodding his head towards the Seer who smiles and nods back to him before turning towards Ren.
“I have already alerted the kitchen about their arrival and have informed you father but you know how he is these days.” Ren’s jaw tightens at the mention of his father but he bows gratefully towards the Seer. “The Lunar Village King shall see you all tomorrow, now, he rests.” Siera giggles at how deep and rough the Seer’s voice is in contrast to the feminine appearance. Smiling at Siera, the Seer shrugs. “As you already understand Siera, it does not matter what gender I am, but more what I am.” Nodding their heads towards each other Siera giggles again. “Touché, oh wise Seer.”
Walking towards Ren, the Seer looks at each of Nova’s warriors each in turn before Nova herself. “Seer, this is the lady Nova from-”
“Foolish boy, it doesn’t matter where she is from, only where she is going.” The Seer dismisses Ren with a flick of a crooked hand, causing a small smile to touch his lips as he remembers all of the times where the Seer has done that. No matter what status someone has, the Seer treats everyone the same. The Seer locks eyes with Nova. “I have seen the end of all days, when even the Gods will fall.” Thick tension surrounds the hall. Nova’s warriors grit their teeth whilst the twins loudly declare that they would put a stop to anyone who wishes harm to the Gods before arguing over who would be able to help the most. “You all can leave, Lady Nova is in need of my services and I will not let anyone eavesdrop on the secrets of the future. Off you go.”
Ignoring their protests, Ren leads them away. Leonardo looks towards Nova, his hand on the hilt of his broad sword with a worried glint in his eye. With a nod, his jaw tightens before he leaves with a bow to Nova. “If you need me my Lady, just call.”
After the heavy doors loudly close, the Seer smiles at Nova. For along time they stand in silence watching each other. A small breeze whispers to Nova, flicking her hair playfully, making a small smile touch her lips. Nova looks to her left, nodding as if someone was there. “Thank you Iris.” Turning back to the Seer she nods, both knowing that they will not be overheard now.
“You are a long way from home, Goddess.”
