Chapter 13Mature

Corinne wasn't going to take any chances; raising her weapon, she confronted the man with suspicion glowing with a bright fire in her eyes.

"Just stop now Deforreth. Do anything else and you will pay the price."

Reluctantly, he dropped his tools and raised his hands.

"This is hardly sporting is it?" his voice was laced with frustration.

"Neither is sabotage." she tilted her head, gesturing to him that he needed to move.

"You have to believe me. I am not sabotaging anything." He stood his ground.

"Well I'm reluctant to believe someone like you."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Evasive behaviour. Stealing resources. And I'm sure there are more things that you are guilty of. I am arresting you."

"You don't have the right." he stepped backwards, subtly trying to reach something he could use to defend himself with.

"No chance." she said with a smirk.

That was when she pulled the trigger and he fell.
