Fire and Water: Part Eight
Will stood in the doorway of the twins' room, watching them sleep. Even while asleep, Tundra was still labeled a troublemaker, given away by the soft smirk on his face.
"Will?" Taiga asked groggily. "What are you doing?"
Will smiled and sat next to his sister on the edge of her bed. "Just checking on you to make sure you're okay."
Taiga yawned, then smiled sleepily. "We'll always be safe with you to take care of us, Will. Right?"
Will nodded and brushed her black hair away from her face. "I'll take make sure that you and Tundra are always safe."
Taiga smiled sleepily again, then closed her eyes and went back to sleep.
Will stayed on the edge of her bed and watched her sleep for a few minutes, wishing that he could stay with her and Tundra, but knowing that he had to leave to make sure they were safe. Gently, he brushed his lips across his sister’s warm forehead, promising that he’d make sure that the twins would never have to go through the horrors at Type M Blood Facility.
