Finding peace elsewhere

when you walk away, i count the steps that you take.

I couldnt count the steps he took. there were too many to count.

But i like to think i did.

He walked out that door , leaving me with his children.

 he flew to nevada.

leaving me with no money.

He never called. leaving me heartbroken.

i had put faith in him.

i had put trust in him.

i had put my life in his hands.

He took nothing of mine but at the same time, took everything i had.
