Finding peace

The waves lappped at my feet. I dragged my toe through the sand. The wind caressed my cheek holding it firmly in it's chilly grasp. My hair blew around me in swirling patterns. The stars hung like perfect diamonds in the still night air. Shaping different things. I clutched my emerald stone. The one that allowed me to live. Well, not live, but allow me to have more access to my powers. I pick up a twig, and twist through my fingers. I placed it on the ground again and looked up to my new home. The home I would live in until I graduated from school. The home where my aunt and uncle lived. I sighed and walked up to the house, my footprints making indents on the white sand. I opened the door and am blasted by the hot air and sweet smells. My little cousin came running to me throwing her hands around my waist. I hugged her back. "Aunt Marry? Can you tell Uncle Horris to come help me with my bags!" I ask. She shouts something in a hoarse voice, and my Uncle comes holding out his arms. A big smile was plastered on his lips. We walk out to the car I came in. My bags aren't heavy but there are quite a few. But Uncle Horris packs them all onto his shoulders like a pack lama. We walked into the house again and he leads me up to my new room. I look at him and he leaves. Now I am free to be in peace. I open my bag and take out the herbs and finally my wand that was carefully wrapped in a white hanky. I kiss it and then put it on my dresser. My emerald burns under my shirt I know it wanted some affection. Everything had a mind. I took it out and  carefully stroked it until it was cool again. I was going to school tomorrow. My new school, and I was the new kid...

I walked up to the school, it was painted a sandy colour. I see a group of kids in a group. Probably terrorizing some poor animal. I walk up to the group and see whats going on. There's a tiny weasel, sitting on the ground. The kids are watching it, and if it moves a kid moves in it's way. "Hey, you, fill in the empty space!" yells a short kid with long brown hair. I walk to the empty space, but I keep my mind focused on the weasel. <Come to me, I'll keep you safe. I'll hold you and cuddle you, don't go to the others, there evil" I say to it in my mind. It slowly walks up to me, then jumps into my arms huddling against the warmth of my body. The kids are yelling and screaming things like. Oh my god! That animal just jumped into her arms! But I just started to walk away when a big guy came up behind me. "Hey, why are you messin around with us?" he asks. I look at him and he looks away. "The animal was terrified, and he felt safer by me instead of someone like a big jerk like you!" I say, looking at him through narrowed eyes. "Oh you little brat!" he practically yells. Oh damn! These we're probably the school bullys. "Hey, Todd, it's just a girl" says the short kid. He looks at me and sneers then walks away. Oh godess that was close! I calmed my breathing, thank goodness I was a girl. I petted the weasel that had been hidden in my coat. I put it down on the ground and started to walk away. But the weasel followed. I sighed animals loved me sometimes too much. I pulled it into my grasp and headed to the school. I'd put it in my locker and make a bed for it. Oh now I was thinking I'd have a big locker. I walked to the office and got my schedule. I was looking at it when I bumped into someone. I looked up into the face of a muscular and good looking guy. I hurried by but he caught my arm. "Are you new here?" he asks. I nod and try to move away from his firm grasp. "I'm Tatsu Baleson, I know the name sucks" he sais. "Ya it does, I'm Poppy Colesman" I say. Ok this guy was ok. He looks at the principal. "Hey Mr. D can I show her around?" he asks. The principal nodds. Tatsu was going to show me around. Dang! I brushed some of my blond hair out of my eyes and set of to my next class. The poor weasel was still hiding and I had to get it to safety. He was following, and when the weasel who I will call Daisy moved. He eyed my coat. I went to my locker and set up a warm nest. Then placed him in it and closed the locker. He was staring at me suspiciously. "What was that?" he asks, his expression puzzled. "A weasel ok! It won't leave me alone because I saved it" I say quickly. He looks at me and bursts out laughing. "Oh ya your weasel girl! Nice of you to get Todd in a bad mood!" He chuckles to himself. I glare at him and strom of to my class. So much for thinking he was mister nice guy. No he was mister Mean guy! I heard him coming behind me, walking quickly trying to catch up. When he did I had cooled off a bit. "Sorry" he sais. "Well" I say sweatly. "You probably wouldn't want to go down in history as weasel girl, would you?" He looks at me and I can see he's holding back laughter. "Oh just laugh, you dufus" I say. He doesn't though. His expression softens and he looks at me knowingly. "Bad mood today?" he asks. "Not until you came!" I hurl at him, and it was true. I had been calm and heading for a good start to the day. "Anyway, we gotta go to class" I say and walk in...

The End
